Builders Presidency

Welcome to all the Legacy Builders!  How do you know if you are a Builder?  Well, if you are a mom, dad, grandparent, aunt, uncle, teacher, or caregiver of a Legacy student, YOU are a builder! Wondering what makes LPA such a great school? Meet with us as parents and partners to find out.  Bring the kids (IF you want), your thoughts, and your smiles to our meetings and stay informed on all things LPA.  See you there!

BUILDERS (Parents) Meetings

Every month we hold a meeting for all parents/caregivers to help plan and execute Builders plans as well as any other concerns that we can help with.  We want to involve and incorporate a diversity of ideas to make LPA the best that we can and that means that we need YOU.  You might have a perspective that we might not have considered or a skillset that we don’t have that can really build our community in ways we hadn’t even imagined.

Builders K-6 meetings will be on the first Wednesday of each month at 10 AM.  To follow the school safety procedures, we will hold meetings via Zoom and record them for anyone who misses the meeting.  We will post the Zoom information a week before as well as the latest video of the meeting.  Please keep an eye out for this info!

Attending Builder meetings does count for volunteer hours and is a great way to get involved with the school.

Parent Involvement Matters!

Your kids LOVE seeing you at school and by helping in the classroom, you get to see first hand what LPA life is like for your kiddo. Research shows so many of the benefits to having parents in the classroom, and with over 20 years of research to prove it, doesn't it make you a little curious what it's like? Check it out.

Builders K-6 Board

We are all parents and volunteers who want to make the school year as great as possible for all our students!  We would like to introduce ourselves so that you can get to know us a little better, but the best way to get to know us is by coming to the meetings!  We send out emails, post and moderate the Builder’s Facebook page, look for volunteers for schoolwide opportunities so please reach out to us if you need anything at all!  If you have any questions, you can reach out to us at [email protected] or individually at our contact info below.

I have a fourth and first grader in our family’s fifth year at LPA.  I joined the Builders as a way to connect with other parents at the school at the same time I could help my kiddo’s class out.  Since I joined Builders four years ago I have had the pleasure of making some great friends, working on some really great events at the school and delighting my kids when they see me at school at unexpected times!

I have three years at LPA and one student for now.  I joined because there is a sense of community among fellow LPA parents, and as I have gotten to know them, I have made great friendships along the way.  Also, I like being active in the things my kids are learning at school.

A little about myself, I grew up on Islands most of my life from Kodiak Alaska, O'ahu Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. I have come to learn from my travels that "When schools, families, and community groups work together to support learning; Children tend to do better in school, stay in school longer, and like school more" -Anne Henderon

This is what I want for our children here at Legacy Preparatory Academy to have a sense of family, community, and that you can do anything you set your mind to. I am excited to be working with the Builders this year and can't wait to meet more of you throughout the year!

This will be our second year with LPA.  My oldest child is in 1st grade.  I joined the Builders board for those volunteer hours!  Just kidding!  I joined Builders to help with building this community.  I believe in the saying “it takes a village,” and I want to actively be a part of this LPA village.  Especially this year, I want to encourage everyone to help when and where they can, ask questions, dig in, and be open to helping across the school(s).

Hello! My name is Sara Taylor. This will be our second year with LPA. The reason I chose to be on the Builders team is because I know that with our (the parents) help in the day to day school processes our student's quality of education improves. It has to start with us and our willingness to show up. We lead by example. Whether it's in person, helping with carpool, Coke rewards, or at home stapling and folding projects for our school staff, every little bit helps and makes a difference for our kids. Let's all keep working together for our kids' future!

I chose to be part of the LPA Builders because I feel like with parent involvement, my kids and the kids within the school have more opportunities to learn and grow while having fun. I love to work alongside the teachers and help be a part of a community with the same goal in mind. I'm excited to be a part of the Builders and have a wonderful school year!

This is our family’s fourth year at LPA and we absolutely love the school and community! I have two sons; a fourth grader (Luke), a first grader (Max) and a three year old daughter who can’t wait to be an official Legacy Lion!  I became a part of the Builders in order to give back to the school that has given my boys so much. I hope to encourage more parents to volunteer and be involved in our school community!

We’ve been at Legacy for the past three years. I joined the Builder’s because I’ve enjoyed helping in my children’s classrooms and with musicals the past three years and I wanted to get more involved in the day to day workings of the school. I’m excited to be a part of the Builders board this year!
