Hello!! Welcome to Ms. Rogers Page!
Ms. Rogers has been teaching school for almost 4 years. She originally taught Physical Education and Health at Centerville Jr. High School for 3 years, then decided to take some time off to raise her family. Following this time, she applied for and happily accepted a job offer here at Legacy Preparatory Academy as a 3rd Grade Instructor. She loved being an instructor for 3rd Grade and enjoyed teaching and watching her students grow, learn and develop into great young people. Following that first year, she was approached and asked to be the K-4 Physical Education Teacher. She happily accepted and has loved teaching P.E. She wants everyone to know that she does not perceived Physical Education as an organized recess. Her responsibility as a Physical Education teacher are, in her opinion, amongst some of the most important in the school. She firmly believes all of her students are special and that each posess a wide variety of talent and skills. She believes it her mission to expose her students to a wide variety of activtities, and to help her students discove and enhance these skills. As a professional educator, she tries to present these activities in a positive and professional manner, as to maximize the self-esteem and the self-confidence of her students. Her ultimate goal is to have her students learn that physical fitness is crucial for maintaining a healthy lifestyle, not only now, but for the rest of their lives. While she holds high expectations for the students, she does not expect each child to be the best at each activity, but does expect them to do their best.
Ms. Rogers originally gradutated from the University of Utah with a degree in Exercise Physiology, Pre-Med and a Minor in Nutrition with a Sports Nutrition emphasis. She was originally accepted to medical school at the University of Utah, but decided to defer her enrollment to help raise her family. Following this time, she was accepted into the ARL (Alternative Route to Licensure) Program through Salt Lake Community College and received a teaching certificate in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Physical Education and Health. She is currently taking classes to pursue getting her teaching certificate in Elementary Education.
As most of the students are aware, Ms. Rogers LOVES soccer and the University of Utah (GO UTES!!!) and has played and/or coached or trained various soccer players all her life. She was able to play as a youth, in college at the University of Utah and both semi professionally and professionally, taking her to play and have great experiences all over the world.
Ms. Rogers is excited for this year and hopes to be an influence in the lives of each student she comes into contact with! GO LIONS!!!
