Arrival/Dismissal Procedures

Outside of Normal School Hours

  1. Students arriving after 8:20 am, or any other time during the day outside of carpool times, must be accompanied into school to be signed in.
  2. If a student needs to leave the school during school hours the parent/guardian (or guardian approved adult) must come into the school and sign the student out at the front desk. The front desk will notify the home room teacher who will send the student to the office. Students will not be sent out to meet parents at the curb outside of regular carpool times.
  3. If parents are going on vacation, be sure and add the caregiver to the student’s emergency contact list so they can pick them up from the school if necessary while you are gone. You should also leave a “permission to treat” with the caregiver in case there is need for medical attention for the student and the parents are not available.

Non-Custodial Parent/Guardian

LPA abides by the provisions of the Family Education Right to Privacy Act with respect to the rights of non-custodial parents. In the absence of a court order to the contrary, the school will provide the non-custodial parent access to the academic records and to other school-related information regarding the student. If there is a court order specifying that there is to be no information given, it is the responsibility of the custodial parent to provide the school with an official copy of the court order.

Likewise, non-custodial parents will have access to students during school hours in the same way that custodial parents do (including picking up the student from school) unless documentation to the contrary is presented to the school.
