SUMMER READING AND MATH CHALLENGE
During the summer we encourage students to read and practice their math skills to avoid any summer drop. Students who complete this challenge will participate in an award activity the first week back to school.
In order to earn the reward students will need to read 100 minutes a week during the 10 weeks of summer AND log 1000 minutes in Prodigy. (Please email this year’s homeroom teacher if you don’t know how to log in to Prodigy.)
Students may document their reading minutes by submitting a calendar showing the day, time read, and parent/guardian signature or by completing the grade appropriate reading packet located on our website. The link is found on the South Campus page, Resources tab, Summer Reading Packets. https://south.legacyprep.org/apps/pages/index.jsp?uREC_ID=838123&type=d&pREC_ID=1427952
The calendar or reading packet documenting the completion of reading is due the first day of school. Students will turn the signed calendar or completed packet into their homeroom teacher. We will pull a report showing completion of math minutes on the first day of school so students.
All of our students worked hard this year and made tremendous growth. We appreciate your support during the summer in keeping these skills sharp.
